Lucky for all of you. I WAS the only tech writer in the company until the
company experienced some financial woes and laid me off last June. Now I'm
working in a totally different field since all the tech writing jobs now
require a bachelor's degree. I still have one more year to go to get my
Professional and Technical Writing degree. At least I'm enjoying my new
line of work, even though I had to take a considerable pay cut for it.
That's life! I'm thankful to be employed!

Oh well, I might as well fess up.... I to am the only tech writer at my
company. And I acquire my position last October. Doing so in this
economy is a challenge and takes luck and good credentials.
So, congratulations to all of us who have been fortunate enough to be
able to buck the economy and jobs outlook.
