It seems clear that to "address" an issue is capable of two quite
distict interpretations.
I would consider excising the verb, and finesse it thusly if it is to
be included:
"We'll revisit this issue in a future release."
I believe this is suitably non-committal to avoid the argument.
Maybe.
Meanwhile, if it's a bug, perhaps the optimal way to go is to have the
engineers *fix* the darned thing! I daresay the customer complaining
is not the only one experiencing the problem--too many suffer in
silence, and your reputation with them suffers correspondingly.
...That's my story, and I'm sticking to it...
