TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
It's only a proposal at this stage, but sounds like a dream job for the right person.

The goal of this project is to provide a complete start to finish guide
(or set of guides) explaining how to get involved in OpenOffice.org
development. It should start with how to build Extensions, and move on
to the more complex core development.
Author requirements:
--------------------
* Technical writer with experience in creating software
developer focused documentation
* Good knowledge of software development practices
* Basic programming experience/knowledge (Java, C++ etc.)
* Good knowledge of the OpenOffice.org software
* Good knowledge of UNO or comparable object models
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience with MS Windows, Linux, and OSX. Knowledge
of Solaris is an advantage
* Fluent English

familiar with producing developer level documentation.
