Thanks everyone who replied to this.
I'm having to put it to one side for now -- I'm not sure that the number of these I do justifies the time it would take me to figure out how to do it! I'm a total VB novice (give or take a small success here and there in 2001...) so even the 'almost done for you' examples some of you sent represent something of a challenge!
(I'll maybe wait until I can find a developer in a good mood with some down time to 'help' me...)
