I programmed that one too. And the Data General Nova, the Varian 620i,
The HP 2115, and some of their relatives -- all in assembly language
of course.
However, the PDP-11 had the most wonderful macro assembler. With the
right macros, assembly language can be a lot clearer than some higher
level languages. We evaluated that assembler against C in 1974 and
decided that C couldn't do what we needed. ...RM
