I work for Author-it as the new Evangelist.

I did an hour webinar yesterday that showed just exactly what you need in
Author-it and using Xtend. The webinar was recorded and can be seen here:

Feel free to ask me further questions.

Hi all

We are at the very start of considering some sort of content reuse which
will be suitable for 5-10 authors working on similar style documents but
in 3 or 4 global locations. (Canada, UK, Germany, maybe Asia). My
fascination is how do authors know what common text may be available as
they write their next user manual?

I know that TRADOS TM has access to your translated text database and as
an author opens up text it automatically offers anything that looks
similar which has already been translated and is in the depository.

Is there a similar application which can monitor what you are writing
and, if it sees something in the common text database that has been
written (and hence probably already translated), will offer that text to
the writer to accept and re-use in the immediate text.
I am told that Acrolinx may be able to do something like this, but has
anyone used it and have comments. And has anyone used anything else that
they would recommend.

I've also been asked to look at xml and DITA ( I know absolutely nothing
about either except that they exist) - would this go hand in hand with
such an application as Acrolinx or is that a totally different approach.

Thanks in advance
