30 files, ~1 minute each to rename them in FrameMaker. Not enough of a big deal to invest in several hours trying to save 30 minutes of tedium.

However, Gene's response also reminded me... take the whole directory and copy it into a new directory named SRC860. Don't bother to change the chapter file names.

Any ideas on how to rename multiple file names within a FrameMaker 8.0
book?

The book includes perhaps 20 or 30 separate files, all are consistently
named
(SRC550 - System Functions, SRC550 - Operation, etc.).

We need to change all the files to SRC860.

Changing file names one by one in the book window is a royal PITA, what with the multiple messages you have to acknowledge. But changing file names in the OS breaks thing. If this is a recurring need, it would behoove you to invest in FrameScript and either write or commission someone (e.g., Rick Quatro, frameexpert.com) to write a script that simplifies the process.
