TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
While augmented reality or 3D hologram projection might be a ways off
from practical widespread use, you can bet that the race for
glasses-free 3D technology is on. As I've posted before, Nintendo has
figured out a way to at least well-fake 3D on a flat screen using 3D
field depth rendering (on sale Friday). Given the hype around 3D
HDTVs, it's only a matter of time before more manufacturers of
handhelds and perhaps large screens start adopting and improving on
this technology.
