I think our (Australian) Consumer Legislation would see to that, in that this product is 'unfit for purpose'. I'll let the IT Dept fight that battle.
Adobe have made much of the S1000D support in their latest version of FrameMaker. S1000D is aimed at aerospace and defence markets, so it makes no sense for Adobe to cut off this market segment.
I think that they just don't understand their market.
