There's also the difference between having a contest and having one
within a larger marketing plan. The former (what we see very often
these days with regard to design) asks for a stand-alone product which
would then govern further design decisions. The latter (like the
jingles) uses collective input to obtain a specific deliverable within
the scope of their marketing plan. And yes, customer-supplied
contributions are very different from professional-supplied ones.
