Hi Leonard,

how are you deleting the XREF? If I am doing this by right-clicking an item in the structure bar on top of the editor, I never have such an issue. I can recommend this procedure for removing all kind of elements such as span tags or annotations.

And to solve your current issue of removing left-overs, I would use the "Find in Files" feature.
