I agree that making the product safer with decals and labels helps even more
safer, but I don't believe the absence of those labels would result in a verdict
for the plaintiff if the operator manual -- complete with all safety info -- was
supplied.

I dunno. Gene is onto something. That's got to be the reason why
equipment now comes with sticky labels and wrapped components with
printed warnings, to circumvent those who will injure themselves
expecting to build their case around a manual the manufacturer knows
nobody reads.
