Hi All,
It's the late hour, or early onset senility, or both:
On the back of a piece of hardware, I have a "receptacle" that the power cord connects into... is the correct term "socket"? You then connect the power cord to the power mains....
It's been ages since I documented hardware, but "receptacle" simply does not seem like the correct terminology.
Outlet (or Inlet)
Connector (seems to imply something that is detachable or with moving parts)
Port
Connection port
Power inlet (or port)
Lauren (wait, I'm not the "receptacle," that's just my signature)
