Hi Robert

This is an area that drives me crazy with Adobe. The help that you see when choosing help from the RoboHelp application is nowhere close to looking like what RoboHelp creates. I see similar things with Captivate. they have these really slick looking bits on the Captivate page that seem to imply that these were created using Captivate alone. In fact, lots of fancy Flash editing was used along with other elements.

The bottom line is that one should most definitely NOT judge the help output in this case by what Adobe themselves provide as help for the RoboHelp application.

Good tutorials don't make Flare's online help any better organized, or
its search engine any better, or its UI any less cluttered. Not that

Absolutely. The first time I used Flare I took the time to work
through the tutorial. It was the fasted I've ever been up and running
(and productive!) on a new authoring tool. Their Help sold me on the
product.

I was demoing Author It at the same time, and I remember I couldn't
even figure out how to create a TOC or an index, and could NOT find
topics that addressed basic tasks for creating a Help system.
