Yes, these are both excellent books on Word that concentrate on valuable information without padding and assume you aren't a computer novice.
One more book to look at: Perfect Pages by Aaron Shepard. This small book concentrates on using Word for creating printed books. It's somewhat out of date, but does point out the issues to watch for and give useful advice on how to handle them.
