Well, you can include a photo of yourself, and if it doesn't match the
body showing up for an interview, there's one catch.
Also, you can limit how much or how little information you want to
share.
And, if some nefarious nimrod copies your details, interviews, and gets
the job, the I-9 form will trip him up. Unless he's managed to copy--and
copy well--some documents like a passport or driver's license, etc. And
at that point, I'd be more worried about what other information he's
gotten. Bank accounts, retirement accounts, etc.
I think it's good to be security conscious, but a dedicated criminal can
get more information from other sources than LinkedIn. Like from
Facebook, Twitter, Techwr-l, HATT...we leave trails all over the
Internet. Avoiding one site isn't going to protect you.
