Re: STC certification: what's in it for tech writers?

I missed a lot of the earlier messages and can't remember seeing anything in this thread on a question I have, so please excuse me if this is a repeat for some of you:

Has the STC or anyone else canvassed employers to find out if employers can see any value in STC certification?  There's no point in going through a certification process, especially a costly one, if employers don't care about it and never look at it.
