TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I would recommend upgrading to Adobe Tech Comm Suite 3.5, which includes
FrameMaker 10 and RoboHelp 9. At GPI, we recently did 3 projects that
published various types of FrameMaker documents into WebHelp from RoboHelp
via TCS3.5.
It is possible to work with the two products *without* TCS, but they are
better integrated out of the box in TCS. Our clients were very pleased with
the results. In addition, Tech Comm Suite includes Acrobat Pro, Captivate
and Photoshop.

Subject: RoboHelp 9 and FrameMaker 9 vs. FrameMaker 10
Hi,
We have been working with RoboHelp 8 and FrameMaker9. To work with a
specific help application, we need to upgrade to RoboHelp 9. The question is
should we also upgrade to FrameMaker 10? Does anyone have experience working
with RoboHelp 9 and FrameMaker 9? If so, have you encountered any problems?
For that matter, does anyone have experience working with RoboHelp 9 and
FrameMaker 10? Do they play well together?
Thanks for your insights.
