TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Got to say you've touched a heartstring with a similarly techno-unchallenged lone writer - fully kitted out with MS Word and Adobe Acrobat (had to fight to get that) and Dreamweaver for simple online stuff (version 2 would do for what I need but had to fight to get it so then I accepted a new version rather than some older copy from Ebay)
FURTHER QUESTION
Is it worth considering more/better skills if you have no reason to use them and no use to practice them with - unused techniques and 30-day trials get forgotten pretty quickly.
(oh and I have a mobile phone as well - it does phone calls - and texts-I think)
Put me down for a 3 on Nancy's scale
