I originally installed Chrome since it became a popular browser
and therefore necessary for me to test-view my WebHelp for our
products, just as I also have IE, Opera, Safari, and of course
Firefox.
It wasn't long before it became my go-to browser for general
browsing. It's quick, and was generally solid. (Similarly, at
home, on my Mac.) IE was always a problem child, and Firefox
was growing by lurches and heavings (that would have been "by
leaps and bounds" for anything less bloated...).
However, I've been increasingly uncomfortable with the
boundless enthusiasm of Google to track me in each of
a billion possible ways.
So Iron sounds like a good option. Can anyone think of a
good reason why Iron would NOT be a good proxy for Chrome,
for test-viewing my WebHelp before I kick it out the door?
On the other hand, since I've been using Chrome for a few
years, now, is there any actual privacy benefit to switching
to Iron? Google has my profile nailed from umpty-eleven
different directions, including the IP addresses from which
I browse, and I'm certain they track me, no matter
which browser I use to access my gmail accounts. . . oi!
