These are all fairly low-impact uses, including the game. Have you tried browsing the used laptops on your local craigslist?

My Better Half could use a laptop for her personal use. I figured I'd ask
you folks for suggestions. She would use this laptop for online banking,
email, Facebook, web surfing, and, most importantly, playing Bejeweled
Blitz.
