The common term today for many user interfaces is "hammer repeatedly."

This was shortened from the acronym HRSM, that is, "hammer repeatedly,
scream maniacally."

Which derives of course from the original engineering term, MS-DOS,
i.e., "Manically Scream, Devil's Own Spawn."

But I digress.
