In the past, I would have suggested Camtasia, especially as it is less expensive than Captivate. However, at this point I would have to go with Captivate. TechSmith seems to have its head in the sand regarding HTML5 and continues to promote Flash for its output. When asked about this in their forums, they describe HTML5 as just another trend, like Microsoft Silverlight, and don't see a reason to jump onto this new trend.

Adobe is no longer releasing Flash for portable machines. My take is that if you ever want to use the output on anything but a desktop or laptop computer, you should go for Captivate.
