Good morning whirlers!
If you follow us on Twitter (@TechWriterToday) or have friended us
Facebook, or check the magazine on any kind of a regular basis, then you
may already know that we're planning a new road trip. We are looking for
two guest bloggers/budding journalists to join our motley crew as we head
for Memphis, TN and the WritersUA Conference for Software User
Assistance<http://www.writersua.com/conference/index.html>,
March 11-14, 2012. In return for complimentary registration at the event
($1395 value), you'll be writing up summaries of the sessions you attend,
doing a post-conference feature, and if time allows, an interview with one
of the luminaries in the technical communications field. And you get to
hang out in Memphis with TechWhirl, enjoying blues, BBQ, and bourbon (if
you're so inclined). WritersUA, produced by Joe Welinske, is one of the
most highly regarded conferences in our field, with dozens of sessions in
three interest areas: emerging skills, tools and technology and content
strategy. We're just beside ourselves with excitement (...um, this could be
a temporal distortion of some sort, we'll have to let you know when we get
back) about covering all the happenings.
Fire up your social media tools and enter the contest before midnight this
Friday, Feb. 3. To enter: Follow Writers UA on Twitter @WritersUA, then
tweet why you want to be chosen to be a writer and reference @WritersUA and
@TechWriterToday. We even give bonus points for extra stuff, so head over
to the magazine to get the
details<http://techwhirl.com/articles/meet-us-in-memphis-writersua/>and
the
rules<http://techwhirl.com/list-of-events/techwhirl-events-terms-conditions/>.
Winners will be notified on Feb. 6, to give you time to find reasonable
pricing for transportation and accommodations.
We're looking forward to meeting you in Memphis @WritersUA!
