It could also mean that folks are marketing themselves differently
today, focusing on different skills.
Five or more years ago, listing expertise in MS Word and Excel and
PowerPoint may have let you stand out amongst your peers. Today, I
would almost argue that it's a given and anyone who lacks these core
skills isn't qualified enough.
Continuing to list them makes you almost sound inexperienced, as though
you don't have more valuable and important skills to focus on and highlight.
