The real question that springs to mind is 'why group them?'
Purely from a user experience point of view, why would you expect users
based in New Zealand to look under 'A', sorry 'a', in a list of countries?
The cultural implications simply add further weight to the argument that
this is the wrong approach.
I would really like to know why it was done in the first place.
