You can revert from ribbon to the old-style "tool strip" and back again at any time. (From ribbon it's File > Options and from tool strip it's Tools > Options. Interface tab.)
HTML5 output looks great. Don't know about cross-browser issues.
MadCap notes during the install that v8.0 (now v8.0.1) and v7.2 can live and work on the same machine independently. (I'm guessing you can only have one open at a time, but don't know.)
Don't know about the other stuff (Contributor etc.).
It looks good and some of the improvements are subtle but important. (I believe they've fixed that search feature that Robert was concerned about.)
