I've used Word 2010 and Acrobat 9 Pro with no issues for the past 2 years, this is first I heard Word 2010 had that requirement.

Which release of Acrobat do you have? Office 2010 requires Acrobat X.
It's the reason I haven't taken my working system from 2007 to 2010. We haven't upgraded Acrobat from 9 yet.
