But would you get the keys -- and flash drive -- back? Also, USB flash drives can break or fall off. IMHO you'd be better off with backup off site in an SD box, or online, or both.

The challenge is *my* remembering my hints, so a lock box is a good idea (especially in the event of a fire). Or I could lock a dupe flash drive in the glove box of my car.

IMHO, neither of these combine simplicity and reliability.
