TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

*In Need of a Tech Communicator with an Expertise in Agile?*
Documentation in the Agile environment is not easy, but it isn’t impossible
either.
At Adam Charles Consulting, we use an organizational development approach
("Preferred Futuring") to the application of Agile principles that helps
publications groups integrate with Agile developers and the overall
organization, and find personal fulfillment in doing so.
This approach has been used successfully with large organizations such as
IBM and Ford, as well as with groups of five or fewer. It helps group
members define methods for achieving the future they want to have, within
the Agile context.
We’d love to speak with you about your project. After the initial consult,
we help you along the way for up to three months at no extra charge (for a
reasonable number of hours).
*Please Take the 2012 Technical Communication Industry Benchmarking Survey*
The Content Wrangler is conducting research to determine how large
organizations create and manage technical communication and training
content and deliver it to those who need it. This survey is designed to
identify the biggest challenges in our industry, the types of techniques,
tools, and standards we use, and what we plan to do to improve our
offerings in the future.
The survey contains several question types (multiple choice, short comment,
etc.) and should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete, depending on
your answers. You cannot save the survey and return later to complete it.
So, please complete this survey in one sitting.
TechWhirl is teaming up with the LavaCon Conference to bring you one-hour
long live discussions on Google+ Hangouts. We open the sessions with 5
questions and then open it up to the folks in the Hangout. These are brand
new for us but they promise to be an interesting way to spend lunch (12 PM
East coast) or late breakfast (9 AM Pacific).
