At work, I use a MacBook Pro with the Parallels desktop that runs Windows 7
as a virtual machine. It runs extremely well, and I only have one computer
and monitor to deal with. (When running more than one Windows program,
though, I don't like the Coherence mode--quickly gets too confusing when
some windows are PC, some Mac.)
It's handy in unexpected ways, too. I recently had a problem with some PC
software, so I was easily able to "spin up" a new Windows virtual machine,
reinstall the software, and diagnose the problem in the new environment.
Harder to do this with physical boxes!
Best of both worlds for me...
