Where have you gone to find nicely designed page layouts for PDF targets?
The ones that are built into the product are not very appealing, and MadCap says that's all they have. They suggest perusing case studies on their site and getting ideas from that, but I've scanned through all of them and it looks like that's about reverse-engineering the few print screenshots that are there. (The most recent case study was from my former employer -- we had nice layouts there, designed by one of the writers who was also a graphic designer.)
As for design, do you have a designer do the page layouts or do you roll your own?
I'm really looking for specific designs and I suppose that would involve not only layout files but also the .css files or the .css versions for the Print medium.
Thanks for any and all advice. I don't mind digging into it and figuring it out myself but that's a big time-hole and I'm on a shorter schedule.
