Uh-huh. My 7-month experience in Oakland working on a massive worker's comp
SW project overseen by a large consulting outfit (begins with the letter
'D') was enough to tell me that my adopted state remains in BIG trouble.
As an aside, my best friend used to be the steady of Ann Gust's older
sister. We hung out a lot at that house, with Annie being a shadow figure
rarely acknowledged. Today Ann is better known as Mrs. Edmund Brown (and
she doesn't resemble Linda Ronstadt in the least).
