TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Some days, the Postini summary mail contains ten spam and two or three Techwhirl posts, but other days, I'll have to fish out 20 or more legitimate list postings.
I rarely get spam reaching my mailbox, so it's not a big deal, except for the delay, which puts the list threads all out of sync. . . and sometimes causes me to miss a grouch-gram from the list admin.... :-)
Even without the spam filtering, I find that Techwr-l posts frequently arrive out-of-order in my corporate Outlook mailbox.
Google mail, on the other hand, seems much more adept at the filtering, AND it does a better job at keeping the incoming mail in order.
I'm one of those oddities who prefer to view in order of arrival, rather than re-ordering all posts by thread.

No offence taken, Bill; it happens to me too. I have not kept track of names, but every so often, many a valuable post needs to be dredged out of that sinkhole called Spam.
