I've been single-sourcing PDF and web help for 15 years, and got into
the habit of writing modularly before that.
It always seems weird to me when people talk about topic-oriented
writing as if it had to be exclusively random access, or as if writing
that way has anything to do with what tools you use or what
deliverables you produce.
