Subject:word 2003, custom doc properties, and docx format From:Jay Maechtlen <techwriter -at- laserpubs -dot- com> To:TechWrl list <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 08 Aug 2014 17:26:27 -0700
well, here's an obscure issue -
- at least, I Googled it and didn't find anything.
Using Word 03 under Win 7,
Using custom doc properties for a few values that I'll display in a
number of places:
When saving to .doc, everything works just fine, as expected.
When saving to .docx, any custom docproperties that have the "date"
datatype are omitted.
The text doc properties end up in the docx, but the items with "date "
type don't.
Also, when editing the docx, you can add the doc properties with 'date'
type just fine.
Save, close, re-open - they're gone.
Fine, I'll just put the dates in as text...
