We may have figured it out. The report is generated in a MatLab window which the user must define numerically with a command. All items on the page are essentially auto generated figures and their location must be specified by a coordinate. There's a way to specify text that goes outside of a figure. So, create a dummy figure with the copyright text.
Alas, it is possible to print to a .PDF generator.

All,
Seeking ideas on how to maintain design control over MatLab generated
reports without paying for their report generation tool. Specifically, we're
trying to insert a copyright footer.
Thanks in advance.
