Hi, all, this is really a question for HATT, but they don't seem to be operating anymore.

I am rebuilding a Help project from scratch, because the old version of it is fairly unstable. I've been working on this large system in RoboHelp 11 (WebHelp) for three weeks, and just recently I started getting a message every time I saved it to the effect that it can't read the root.fpj file. I know that the root.fpj file is the file that keeps track of the files in the project, but no files seem to be missing (I have tried exiting the project and reopening it, and it seems to be okay).

Nevertheless, since I am re-creating a large Help system, I don't want something to go wrong with it. I have saved the project several times this afternoon, but the root.fpj file has not been modified since around noontime.

I was able to find instructions online for manually adding files to the project, but since I am re-creating all the files, I don't want to have to do it that way. And yes, it is true that not all of the files seem to be there in the root.fpj file when I look at it in Notepad. But they are there in the project.

Does anyone know more about this problem? I have been unable to get on Adobe Forums. Every time I try to go onto the site I get a message that there's been a major error. I can search the forums but it is finding no topic, and I can't post a question because I can't log on.

Any help will be appreciated. What would happen, for example, if I made a copy of the file and moved it somewhere else, and then deleted the original file? Would RH re-create the file or just munge up my project? I have been using RoboHelp for more than 20 years and I have never run across the error before.
