The worth of the individual based on their role in society.
According to this hierarchy, the Technical Writer is a "loser."
Possibly true for all front-line individual contributors relative to a VP. Depends on the company.
It's work enough for the individual to overcome this label: not associate self-worth with role in society.
How in the world can the profession overcome this?
I'll bet there's an answer in that field.
