The standard conversion method is annual pay to hourly. Based on a 40 hour work week with 2 weeks of annual vacation, you divide the annual salary by 2000 hours. The reason for this is, of course, because the months are not the same.

If you're forced to discuss pay as a standard monthly amount for some reason, multiply the monthly by 12 to get the annual and then divide by 2000.
