How is it news that Google uses algorithms to tailor ads?

https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/

I've been using Firefox for years, and it's my default browser on both
Mac and Windows, but I fairly regularly have to use Chrome and
occasionally IE for specific sites and web applications. I don't see
many ads because I use uBlock Origin. (AdBlock started selling
pass-throughs to advertisers so it's useless.)

On Android my default browser is Ghostery, but same story, sometimes I
have to use Chrome.

iOS itself is a data-mining machine so I'm not sure it matters which
browser you use.
