Every Monday, you would walk into work and had to figure out where your manager
decided to seat you for the week.
Ahh, the "interchangeable cog" style.
Lots of companies hire that way, looking for someone with a matching "set of skills" instead of trying to find someone who can do the work. My wife's company hired a lab tech for her that was one of those. Fit all the criteria, but didn't like to clean up lab equipment, and broke it instead. Thousands of dollars of glassware. Smashed. Had the right pieces of paper and the right "skills" though.
