Subject:Iodide for Technical Communication From:Keith Soltys <keith -at- soltys -dot- ca> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Mon, 18 Mar 2019 09:18:57 -0400
Mozilla have announced a new tool called Iodide that's intended for
scientific documentation and data visualization. It looks similar to
Jupyter, but is easier to use and possibly more powerful.
"There's a lot in the article that will matter only to scientists or
developers. But there's a lot more of interest to a wider audience; for
example, Iodide could be a wonderful teaching tool for high school or
college math and science classes. I could have used it at the TMX to
create interactive reference documentation for our job control software
to pull in data from an Excel spreadsheet that was more than 10,000 rows
deep. Or perhaps it could be used for API documentation with live code
examples."
