Are you stating, "here are notes" (defining the content type that follows) or, "take note of these points" (using imperative verb)? If the latter, singular Note is fine throughout.ÂBut that might not jibe with other admonishments like Caution, Warning, or Danger.ÂBut then again, I've never seen Dangers; and Cautions / Warnings would read oddly, to me. (I read those as "take caution" and "be warned".)So, coming full circle, I think using singular for all is fine; no reader would be confused (especially with bullets denoting a list of admonishments).DavidDCA:d.a.d

Thespecific issue we are puzzling over is whether to title a list of noteswith the word Note or the plural form Notes. Our only reason for going withthe singular is to avoid forgetting to add the s when using the plural. It's simpler to just add Note everywhere. This came up after we decided to move away from using a run-in title withjust Note for every individual note. In our Help, that often appear a bitheavy, so we're trying a bulleted list with either Note or Notes as thesignal word. With Gratitude,Nelson Vargas^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Visit TechWhirl for the latest on content technology, content strategy and content development | https://techwhirl.com^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^You are currently subscribed to TECHWR-L as david -at- davidartman -dot- com -dot- To unsubscribe send a blank email totechwr-l-leave -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- comSend administrative questions to admin -at- techwr-l -dot- com -dot- Visithttp://www.techwhirl.com/email-discussion-groups/ for more resources and info.Looking for articles on Technical Communications? Head over to our online magazine at http://techwhirl.comLooking for the archived Techwr-l email discussions? Search our public email archives @ http://techwr-l.com/archives
