We're looking at Acrobat for e-books and have been impressed so far.
Problems seem to be that it won't be on UNIX-based systems until the end of
the year, it can't handle sound and video (yet), and re-draw could be
considered slow by some viewers, but I wasn't bothered.
It's unreasonable to think that everyone should use the same package to
produce e-books (see the debate on Frame/Interleaf/PageMaker), but we've
needed a standard for viewing and this could be it -- especially with the
hyperlink (now), sound, and video (later) capabilities on top of it.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone about their Acrobat experience. I'll
post our info when we get going here.
