To all subscribers, regardless of your titles:
I'm a grad student studying to be a scientific writer when I grow up, and
have been lurking on this list quietly soaking up the info etc.
I'm about to lose my e-mail address, but will get a new one after the
holly day. Netiquette demands that I unsubscribe to all lists before they
shut me down, and tonight's the night.
This is no big deal for every list but this one. I just can't bring
myself to unsubscribe without a note of thanks to everyone who posts here.
The information you all share can't be found in most textbooks--it's
real world stuff that I have not yet experienced (like the Q in Arkansas).
I guess it's because I've never been employed as a writer or whatever, but
I've been a guest in your professional conversations and have definately
gained a sense of what the work is like (problems, solutions, tools of the
trade etc). I now know that I better take a desktop publishing course, and
that "you" is better than "the user" if you can get away with it.
Technology is changing so many aspects of this field that it's difficult
to stay on top of things, but I have found that this list is THE resource
for cutting edge solutions.
Enough. Merry days to you all, and I'll be back!
