Prateeti Ballal and Eric Weitzel will will present a session on
rewriting and redesigning mini and mainframe software
documentation for a Windows-based PC environment. As PC-based
products increase in popularity and ease of use for novices, the
accompanying documentation for these products must also be
accessible and have a contemporary look and feel. The session,
accepted for presentation at this year's STC Currents Conference
in Atlanta, discusses the process, priorities, and the choices that
Prateeti and Eric made on a recent project that involved moving
documentation into a windowing environment. Prateeti holds a
Master's degree in Technical Writing, and she is working toward a
Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. Eric holds a Bachelor's degree in
English. Both work as technical writers at Group 1 Software in
Lanham, MD.
The cost of the workshop includes hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks.
