Subject:PaintShop Pro? Three cheers! From:Patrick O'Connell <patricko -at- EICON -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 10 Mar 1994 08:39:00 PST
We are moving rapidly towards doing all our user-interface stuff (or as much
as possible, anyway) under Windoze 3.x, and are using PaintShop Pro ALL THE
TIME. We actually do our screen captures with TechSmith's Snagit, then
paste the contents of the Clipboard into PSP, crop if necessary, and save
into whatever format FrameMaker 4/Win is most comfortable with (TIFF, I
think). PSP's the only "image"-type program I've ever seen with a
resizable crop box.
The bonus is that as of version 2.[something], PSP also converts files
between a whole swack o' formats, singly or in batches. We've stopped using
another shareware prog, Graphics Workshop for Windows, for conversions
because of this.
Extra bonus: one of our newest writers has become an expert in tweaking
FTP'd images from NASA's Hubble, ST:TNG, Babylon 5, etc. using PSP's
astounding image-processing capabilities and blowing them up to 1644x1200
wallpaper for the Sigma Designs L-View monitors we use. AWESOME!
Cheers,
Pat O'Connell
