TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
We are moving from writing DOS-based applications to Windows-based and our
department would like to create GUI design standards. I have created a
technical writing standards manual which includes online documentation in the
GUI environment. This was my undoing as the programmers are now hoping that
I will be able to help them establish GUI design standards for client/server
applications, primarily in PowerBuilder.
And so, I turn to you, my esteemed colleagues throughout the known (and
unknown) world. If you have any information in this regard, or can point the
way to information, please let me know. I will remain both eternally grateful
and gainfully employed.
