With regard to using "between" for the relationship of two
entities and "among" for three or more entities in relationship,
I agree with Bernstein's *The Careful Writer* that "between" is
the only correct preposition for three or more things. However,
this could be a distinction without a difference. Like the usage
of "that" and "which", there seems to be declining attention paid
to proper use of "among" and "between" even by good writers.
